Just out on Booty Call Records, the Nightmare Juke Squad member shows how sh*t goes down in Paris

Pumping juke action is the order of the day in Prime Slime’s Slime Me a River EP (buy). The first track “BOB” (Big Ol’ Booty, what else?) is more your typical, al beit sped up, ghetto house track, with a huge rave influence. As the EP goes on, things juke out more. The r’n'b influenced “The Future” being most notable, which has a DJ Roc feel to it. On remix duty, Kaptain Cadillac gives Fruit y Booty the ghetto tech treatment whilst Mister Reis takes a different ghetto house/juke approach to The Future.

Just out on Booty Call Records, the Nightmare Juke Squad member shows how sh*t goes down in Paris. Booty Call is one of the greatest ghetto labels outside of the US and this release will re-enforce that image.

It’s always nice to come across something fresh from Fly Beats home city, Coventry, even if the producer in question is London based these days. Disqueostu in fact has lived all around the world, from Tokyo to New York. So it’s no surprise that along with fellow band members of Deepfat, Bombed Last Night, mangles together a mixture of elements including slowed down tech-funk, distortion and rave to create what I can only describe as terror-stomp! In fact it reminds me of a time when another Coventry DJ played Aquasky and Meat Katies Overneath on 33 1/3 (by accident?) and it sounded gut wrenchingly awesome! This is pretty exciting stuff and Stu has been in contact saying he’s beavering away on some new solo stuff. Bring the noise!

Jason Sparks has reworked his classic Gangsters for Botchit & Scarper. Euphoric chords always catch my attention as anyone that has heard my mix tapes will know. This is just the sort of thing I like to finish up on. Flore and Reso take things in a different direction with some driven and twisted dancefloor fodder, respectively.

Redlight is big in the game right now! Which isn’t surprising as his previous moniker, Clipz, was also one of the biggest names in DnB. This time his focus is more on mid-tempo, eclectic, breaks based styles. Running through dubstep, house and club , but keeping the focus on working the beats and bass together. His latest track, Stupid feat Roses Gabor has broad appeal, thanks in large to the addition of the sultry vocals. This one will no doubt be making apperances in many a compilation over the summer. Definelty one of the biggest tunes to be on at the moment, drop it first before the bandwagon get’s going.

DJ Assault and Deekline, DJ Nasty and Baobinga, now DJ Omega takes leave from the Detroit ghetto to join forces with two European counterparts for some filthy club action on Tim Healey and DJ Deekline’s Giant Pussy Records!

Any avid booty fan will know DJ Omega’s name, if at least his voice, as he lends his dirty vocal hooks to many a ghetto banger. With Stripper Anthem he drops a vocal line to the wobble stomp from the new, as yet unknown production duo, Stripper. I’ll save you the hassle of embarrassing google searches and post their myspace for you. I’d safely put a tenner on the label directors though.

More interesting on this release is the techy, occasionaly glitchy, dubstep remix from Edingburgh based Akira Kiteshi. Atari samples, heavy beats, plenty of swoosh’s and ghettotech hooks all just make for perfection in this versatile remix.
